Barb Proescholdt, RN – Patient Education Nurse

Barb joined Lincoln Orthopaedic Center in September 2003. She earned her diploma in nursing at Immanuel Hospital School of Nursing, Omaha. She worked at Lincoln General Hospital for 23 ½ year in a variety of orthopaedic roles. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Nebraska Wesleyan University. In 1995 she joined Southeast Community College Practical Nursing program as a medical surgical instructor.

Barb has been with LOC for eight years and provides the pre-operative education for total knee, hip shoulder and spinal patients. Her goal is to prepare patients and their families so they will have a good understanding and experience both in the hospital and during their post-operative period. She also makes a post-operative hospital visit to address any concerns or questions. She has developed several educational handouts for patient education.

Barb grew up in Omaha and Blair, NE. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, quilting and gardening.
