At Lincoln Orthopaedic Center, we take a versatile and comprehensive approach to the management of patients who are dealing with orthopaedice pain which can bring chronic pain. As we discussed in our last blog, chronic pain is pain that lasts 6 months or longer and can have debilitating long-term effects on an individual’s life. We have physicians who have successfully helped many patients manage their chronic pain. If chronic pain syndrome is something that you’re dealing with, we’d like to be able to help you too.
Managing chronic pain is something that can be very complex. It’s also something that is highly individualized for each patient- it’s definitely not a “one size fits all” treatment approach. The overarching goal of chronic pain syndrome treatment is to get our patients functioning in a way that is as close to normal as possible for their particular situation. Minimizing disability, increasing quality of life, reducing the use of medications (if possible), and helping to prevent relapses of pain are just a few of the items that we focus on when dealing with chronic pain.
If chronic pain is something that you or a loved one are dealing with, don’t lose hope! Lincoln Orthopaedic Center is here to help. First, please consult with your primary care physician and ask for a referral to one of LOC's physicians.
