Director of Sports Medicine Outreach
Corey Courtney received his degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Saint Mary's University in conjunction with Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota. Corey joined Lincoln Orthopaedic Center, P.C. in August 1999 to serve as the Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager for the Lincoln Stars hockey team.
Prior to working for LOC, he was with Westside Orthopaedic and Neurology Clinic in Dubuque, Iowa, as the Head Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager for the Dubuque Fighting Saints hockey team. Corey has been nominated by the United States Hockey League to serve as Athletic Trainer in all four all-star games and for Team USA/USHL in two Viking Cup Tournaments. Corey has worked as Athletic Trainer for the Team USA World Junior hockey team at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center during the summer of 2001 and with Team USA Select 16 and 17's hockey programs as Conditioning Coach and Athletic Trainer.
In 2010 Corey began his role as LOC/BryanLGH Director of Sports Medicine Outreach. He coordinates and oversees all athletic trainer coverage for the partnering schools and Lincoln Midget Football League. Corey continues to provide athletic trainer coverage for the Lincoln Stars and Lincoln Saltdogs as well.
Corey lives in Lincoln with his wife Sara, dauthers Elizabeth and Taylor, son Nick and step-sons John and Luke.
