Sports medicine is a broad term incorporating several facets of orthopaedic healthcare, including exercise, proper training and supervision, post-injury treatment, surgical intervention, and rehabilitation.
Lincoln Orthopaedic Center physicians and staff utilize the newest techniques in sports medicine and surgery. Our surgeons have specialized training in effective methods to help prevent injury, as well as in arthroscopic surgery, used to treat common sports-related injuries.
LOC practitioners are experienced in treating all levels of athletes, from 'weekend warriors' to Olympic-level sports participants. Lincoln Orthopaedic Center specialists are the team physicians of choice for several area high schools, colleges, and professional teams.
Certified athletic trainers are an integral component of LOC's overall commitment to service in the community. LOC trainers serve many athletes in the Lincoln community. The role of the certified athletic trainer is to: assure that athletes compete in a healthy environment, train athletes in sports injury prevention, and assist with post-injury rehabilitation and reconditioning.
